Inspiration Wednesday - Week 13
This week we got to attach 'Stuff' to our pages. This is one of my favorite things to do because it adds texture and dimension to your project, and I get to go through my junk box to find the perfect pieces.

More Creative Chemistry
I'm just now getting caught up on my Creative Chemistry classes. Last weekend was my annual trip to the Special Olympics so not only did I miss Tim's live chat but I didn't get my tags done. So, I spent this past weekend catching up on the classes and watched the replay of the chat.
Here are a few of the techniques we learned over the past 2 weeks
The first technique is Marbled Stains
The second technique is Stained Resist
And the third technique is Stamping with Perfect Pearls, Distress Inks.

Inspiration Wednesday - Week 12
WOW! We're half way through another year of Inspiration Wednesdays, and I'm having just as much fun as last year.
This week Donna had us making stencils using a glue gun. I was a little hesitant as I started my stencil but I was determined to do this even it turned out to be a total disaster. To keep it simple I just made connected circles. I made two stencils so I could put one on each page. Instead of using watercolor paint I wanted to see how it would look if I used spray ink. I used Dylusions spray inks by Ranger. I love these colors because they are so bright.
As it turns out I really love the way my pages look. It's really cool that in some places there are white circles and in others even though the color got under the stencil you can still see the circle.
I don't know that I will ever use technique again but I loved the fact that I tried something totally different.

Tim Holtz Tags of 2016 - June
For this months Remix Tim used the Stencil Plaid and Tissue Wrap Collage techniques which I really enjoyed the first time we did it. I used Tim's Snowflake Duo die and winter colors for my background. I wanted to keep my tag fairly plain since I didn't want to take away from the snowflakes. I covered the tag with plain blue tissue paper I had in my stash, and inked the edges with Gathered Twigs distress ink.
I'm off the craft room now to catchup on homework for Creative Chemistry. Hope you like the tag!

Inspiration Wednesday - Week 11
For 100 days I'm part of a team, at work, participating in a challenge called 'Get the World Moving'. We are competing against teams from around the world and so far are placed in the middle of the pack. The idea is to walk at least 10,000 steps a day along with making other changes for a healthy lifestyle. Sounds pretty simple right? Wrong! 10,000 steps is about 5 miles and that is not an easy task when you have a desk job. As it turns out what they say about exercise giving you more energy is true. I know this because at nine o'clock last night I finished riding 3.50 miles on my stationary bike, and at midnight I was starting this weeks pages. The news is I was able to make good use of my extended day.

Summer School With Tim
This Summer Tim Holtz is re-introducing his Creative Chemistry 101 and 102 classes. These classes will run for June and July. In August Tim will be running his newest class, Creative Chemistry 103. Since I have been wanting to take these classes this is the perfect opportunity since Tim will be participating in all of them. Since it is class there are homework challenges. This week we had to create a tag or a card using one of the three distress ink techniques we learned. The challenge was that each tag or card had to include at least 4 colors. I chose to make two tags using two of the three techniques:
My first tag is the Brushless Watercolor technique. The Distress ink colors I used were Gathered Twigs, Carved Pumpkin, Mowed Lawn, and Crushed Olive. The stamp is from the Flower Garden set.

For my second tag I used the Blended Spritz and Flick technique. Abandoned Coral, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Mowed Lawn, and Squeezed Lemonade were my ink choices. I inked the edges of the tag with Gathered Twigs, and got to use my, just arrived, Wildflower Dies.
I've been doing the Twelve Tags with Tim for three years, and I must say watching him create these backgrounds is the secret to making beautiful tags and cards. He gives you so many important tips and tricks it makes the classes so worth taking. I'm looking forward to spending the Summer with Tim!
